Preparation of the environmental assessment and further design work for the M2 upgrade is now underway.

On 12 October the NSW Government and Hills M2 reached an in-principle agreement to upgrade the M2.

This important project would:

• Reduce congestion in peak periods.
• Improve access to major growth areas.
• Provide new bus priority access.

If planning approval is granted, construction would begin in late 2010 and would be completed in about two years.

There will be opportunities for community input and consultation on the proposal.
